That's HylaFAX sending NSF, CSI, and DIS signals.

This is the sender transmitting NSF... and that's a no-no. The caller should not send NSF. It could send NSS, but I've never seen a caller do that to a HylaFAX receiver. In any case, this caller is identifying its equipment this way as a Brother fax machine. And, truthfully, this should not interfere with our receive process if this is the only no-no that the sender does.

This is the sender transmitting CSI. Again, this is a no-no. It should send TSI instead. Again, this will not be fatal in an of itself, however.

This is the sender transmitting DIS. Again, this is a no-no, and as it is the last frame in this HDLC series, this will be fatal if the sender continues to behave like this.

And the sender did continue that same line of thought, and that's why the session fails.

The sender is calling but then is trying to receive a fax. The sender's fax machine is broken. Can they send faxes to anyone else?

Lee.
