One more: In the startlog I found
Starting service HylaFAXdone
start faxmodem
FIFO: open: No such device or address
Starting mail service (Postfix)done
...
I have no clue why faxmodem can't open the dev ttyS0, while e.g. faxaddmodem
easily access the modem on /dev/ttyS0....
