True, but... as this page say me:

libtiff 3.6.1 are only on sid/unstable, so if someone on debian hit the
bug, they are using the extremely fast, bleeding edge version, not the
stable, and old, one.


Probably no one have informed the debian libtiff mantainer of the bug,
the patch you are speaking about are that:

i think it should simply apply the patch on debian package, if they
have not just done.
