If you get this problem consistently then something's seriously not right
with your config file.  I would stop faxgetty, zap your config file, then
re-run faxaddmodem, and start up faxgetty again.

If faxaddmodem detects your modem and uses a default config prototype
template, then you should be set, with the exception of possibly removing
an @ from the end of your dialstring.
