Re: [hylafax-users] Phone line busy report

Right now we only have one line and might be adding a second.
Dedicating one line to sending and one receiving would work, however
it wouldn't help load balancing when our load started to fill up two

becomes the best solution.
Let me make sure that I understand. You want a feature that prevents
outbound faxing from completely prohibiting your receiving on shared-use
modems. Is this right?
If that is right, there currently is no easy way to make that happen.
If you have control of the client-side of things then you could, in
theory, do some things with the time-to-send that could approximate your
needs, but admittedly it would be imperfect.
In considering how to add such a feature, I think maybe something along
the lines of a "scheduler time-to-send granularity" would be
appropriate. Meaning that the scheduler would not schedule the delivery
of two jobs closer than the configured granularity. The effect of such
a feature would "stagger" the sending of jobs over a longer period of
time, the "gaps" in sending deliberate, then, for the purpose of
allowing incoming calls to be received.
Please confirm that this is what you desire.
Thanks,
Lee.
