I have been putting my head behind the scenes:
it is an E-Tech E56AVP (www.e-tech.nu) external modem with Ambient/Intel
chipset, connected over ttyS0.
Modem did receive some faxes well after this sendfailure without problems.
I did not change anything in config.ttyS0 after setting up hylafax with
default settings.
