[hylafax-users] 554 5.0.0 Service unavailable

Hello,
I have not been successful yet in mangling sendmail to accept outgoing 
mail-to-fax jobs. I have tried both methods outlined in the how-to, 
either manually editing the sendmail.cf file or editing the .mc file and 
running make.
Incoming faxes are fine. Command line outgoing faxes are fine. Printing 
the incoming faxes automatically works great.
I have sendmail and the server working as localhost.localdomain, since I 
am not yet at the IP that the system will be using permanently.
I am able to send and receive  POP mail within the local area network 
via the internal IP address.
I am not running bind on this box.

System specs:
Redhat 9
sendmail 8.12.8
libtiff 3.7.0

I made an entry to /etc/hosts like this:
127.0.0.1       fax.localhost.localdomain  localhost.localdomain        
localhost

I get the mail returned with the error above. the address format used: 
rob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx


Any suggestions?
