Actually RingsBeforeAnswer = 0 is used when a fax modem is on a shared
line.
The modem will not answer the phone unless I tell it to by issuing a
faxanswer.

It doesn't matter how a faxgetty is launched as long as it is launched
as an appropriately
privileged user. I launched it as root while doing my setup work to
ensure that I would not have to
deal with permission problems while doing a setup. (Divide and
conquer.)

Note I am using v4.0p12 of hylafax.

What I want to know is how to get rid of the Device not configured error
and
how to get hylafax to respond to the faxanswer command as one would
like.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,MTY
