Unfortunately, this seems to be an HylaFAX limitation, see bin/ps2fax

so either tiff3  or tiff3 2d

to get 2MMR I think you need tiffg4

Try producing the tiff yourself using tiffg4 or editing momentarily ps2fax to
force tiffg4 and see if it gets better (I'm afraid HylaFAX will convert it to
32d).

I have no fax no to test with 2MMR

AFAIK, in class1, only HylaFAX is responsible about 1d 2d, so that if HylaFAX
could do MMR the modem should be ok.
