RE: DID MultiTech PBX
Can the MT2834ZDX decipher the DTMF output by a (or your) PBX (as what a /
your PBX outputs may not be in strict CallerID format)?? When looking
through the ZDX manual, the only reference I've seen so far is based on the
assumption of CallerID being provided on the telco (analog) side thereby
allowing the ZDX modem to output DTE strings based on this CallerID
information. If your PBX can exactly emulate normal Central Office based
CallerID on the analog side, what you're asking about should be possible by
tying the PBX-provided 'CallerId' information to a desired received fax
destination (ie; email address) or destination device (ie; printer). Do you
know how a telco Central Office formats / delivers CallerId Info?
I'd love to be able to do this but don't know how to get a (or my) PBX to
deliver acceptable 'CallerId' information to the ZDX modem so I can pick
this subsequent DTE information apart and determine a delivery destination
for the received fax...

Before I get the quick NO! I've worked with VoiceMail, PBX's and FaxMail.
Most PBX's can provide what is called Inband-VMI Voice Mail Integration.
They output DTMF based on the type of call and parties involved.
My ATT Difinity provides the following
#ZZ#XXXX#YYYY#
ZZ forward type
XXXX calling ext blank if external
YYYY called ext <----- this is the one we want!!
The multiTeck MT2834ZDX can recieve such digits.
With this it is possible to route faxes based on the called number.
Anyone willing to program it. I can't write code for anything thats why I'm
an
admin!! ;>
