Thanks a lot. You are right. I am using RH5.2. I use configure it to change the default dirs to /usr/lib and it installs correctly.

What operating system do you have Linux? Debian/RedHat? SCO Unix?
Solaris?
If you are running Linux (esp RH 5.x) you may have to use /usr/lib...
with local, or you may have to load the GhostScript files .
