Strange message: Modem ttyS0 (): Running and idle
Hello,
my setup is:
Sys: Pentium II 300Mhz, 128M RAM
Os: Debian Linux 2.0 (frozen) w/ 2.0.33
Ver: Hylafax-v4.0pl2, tiff 3.4 debianized
from:
hylafax-client_4.0.2-4.deb
hylafax-doc_4.0.2-4.deb
hylafax-server_4.0.2-4.deb
Modem: MultiTech MT1432BAI
I'm able to send well faxes, so the system seems to work well,
but running for example 'faxstat' reports this message:
HylaFAX scheduler on etabeta.bierredi.it: Running
Modem ttyS0 (): Running and idle
As you see the phone number is missing and this is strange to me.
I've configured correctly as usual the modem with faxaddmodem.
The only relevant difference that I've noted is that in
the /var/spool/fax directory there is only 1 FIFO like this:
total 14
prw------- 1 root fax 0 May 22 16:56 FIFO.ttyS0
drwxr-x--- 2 root fax 1024 Apr 25 16:55 archive
drwxr-xr-x 2 root fax 1024 May 22 16:52 bin
drwxr-xr-x 2 root fax 1024 May 22 17:57 client
.....etc....
while on another server I can see 2 FIFOs, like this:
total 17
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 1233 May 18 22:17 COPYRIGHT
prw------- 1 uucp uucp 0 May 22 17:43 FIFO
prw------- 1 uucp uucp 0 May 22 10:45 FIFO.ttyS1
drwx------ 2 uucp uucp 1024 May 18 22:17 archive
drwxr-xr-x 2 uucp uucp 1024 May 22 10:40 bin
drwxr-xr-x 2 uucp uucp 1024 May 22 17:46 client
.... etc....
Besides while sending a fax to another HylaFax server the log reports
this:
May 22 17:51:12 etabeta FaxQueuer[2573]: FIFO: JOB 3 not found for msg "c"
May 22 17:51:36 etabeta FaxQueuer[2573]: FIFO: JOB 3 not found for msg "C"
May 22 17:51:54 etabeta FaxQueuer[2573]: FIFO: JOB 3 not found for msg "d10,1,61
04,00000003,"docq/doc3.ps;00""
May 22 17:51:54 etabeta FaxQueuer[2573]: FIFO: JOB 3 not found for msg "D10,1,61
04,00000003,"docq/doc3.ps;00""
The processes running on both the server are the same, i.e.:
root 2785 0.0 0.8 2264 1132 ? S 17:38 0:00 /usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS0
root 3577 0.0 0.7 2244 904 ? S 17:56 0:00 /usr/sbin/hfaxd -i 4559 -o 4557 -s 444
root 3602 0.0 0.8 2108 1024 ? S 17:57 0:00 faxq
Any hint?
Thank you in advance for any answers.
Regards from Italy,
Luca
