What version of faxstat are you using? And why is it using 4557?
Unless you have been tweaking hyla.conf or otherwise modifying it, you
should be using 4559, the "hylafax" port, rather than 4557, the "fax"
port.

Also, make sure that your hfaxd is running all three ports of snpp
(444), fax (4557), and hylafax (4559), as written in the
hylafax-v4.0pl1/etc/hylafax.sh startup script. This will let hfaxd
answer requests from old faxstat versions on the fax port, and newer
versions on the hylafax port, correctly.

Calling the 4559 port "fax" is sure to get you in trouble very
quickly, unless you really know what you're doing and need to do
things that way.
