For testing, stop faxgetty on that modem and run minicom on it instead. Then give the following commands:


 ATZ
 ATS0=0
 AT+VCID=1
 AT+FCLASS=8

All of those should result in "OK". Then, call the modem's number. Watch for the CallerID to appear. Count the number of RINGs. After the CallerID appears send the "ATH1" command and then watch what happens. You should see the DTMF appear (mixed with dots, probably).

Anyway, if you could cut-n-paste that minicom session back in a reply post it should help us help you.
