Re: [hylafax-users] Fw: Notify

Yes, I agree. We'd have to create a new q-file entry with "charset" or "language" or something. Then notify would use that information to use correct language in the e-mail notification. I'm not ready to go that far myself, though.

As a fallback rule, I would use the default server locale, since it will
work on every system where you have only one language with a locale
other than C or us-ascii.

The patch does default to the charset used on the system, I believe.

The truth is that I put CHARSET into config.cache for the shared purpose between notify and faxrcvd. In a fax-receive scenario we don't have any client-submitted information to go on, and so the administrator would set the users' charset in FaxDispatch.

So it's a small step towards better internationalization. Still there's a log way to go.

If there are enough people interested in getting the fax-received and delivery notifications translated into something other than english please let me know. I can produce a library of english texts that are used in notify and faxrcvd, and if you are willing to translate those let me know, and I'll try to move the ball forward on this a bit more.

Thanks,

Lee.
