These modems (RocketModems) run very reliably in Class 1. Do yourself a favor and run your RocketModem in Class 1.

I've read an answer of Lee Howard about this kind of
error
(http://www.hylafax.org/archive/2003-06/msg00090.html)

Is this error uncorrigible for rocketmodem ISA ? Why
hylafax cannot restart the modem ?

The firmware/driver is locking up. It's probably locking up due to an error in the Class 2 portion of the firmware, but it could be even deeper. HylaFAX cannot reset the modem independently without you configuring it to do that. In the 4.2.1 release there is a new feature allowing you to have a 'resetmodem' script where you could have it unload the module (you'd probably have to stop all the faxgettys first) and then reload it. That may or may not work for you, though.

For restart, I must shutdown the server then restart,
also, just whith a reboot, modem wedged again.

This process works for you because it reloads the driver. There is a possibility that the lockup is something beyond the capability of recovery by reloading the module. In this case, you'll need to do just like you're doing.

In any case, there's a fair chance that you won't have to worry about any of this if you just switch to Class 1.

Lee.
