Well, as you seem to be aware, the fact that it works one time doesn't mean that it will work another. I strongly doubt that the hardware has become any more defective than it was in the beginning. Various conditions beyond your control may have changed to influence the matter.


So you would not expect the latest CVS to make any difference?

No, I don't think so. You're welcome to try. There are various benefits to updating to current CVS anyway. It should be fairly safe. I run current CVS (as always).
