Yes, that´s the way I do it too. I´m a bit confused about the 
users/groups mappings in hosts.hfaxd. So I have to set RecvFileMode to 
0666 in my config.modem file.

AFAIK this is case sensitive. You have to add %s and not %S. Remember 
also to check the "fetch by ftp" box.
