I don't know where I would create the symlink.  Sendmail is going to be looking in /var/spool for clientmqueue every time  (I think).....

I can't get both console email functions and HylaFAX email functions
to work at the same time...

Senmail 8.12 requires:
smmsp    smmsp        512 Apr 19 20:12 clientmqueue

...but it seems HylaFAX needs:
root     root         512 Apr 19 20:43 clientmqueue

If owner and group are set to smmsp, I get no notification.  If set to
root, basic mail functions (mutt, mailx, etc.) don't work.

Any ideas?
