Thanks very much for the great answers.  hylafax is
sounding very promising.  I suppose I'm going to start
looking into Cypheus and Pyla then for a start.

Also you mentioned some web based options.  I see nine
listed 'Web Based Fax Services' on the links page. 
Focusing mainly on log / event viewing, any you might
recomend?  Not really concerned with sending /
receiving through a web page.
