What does "by makefile" mean? I assume that you compiled the source.
As i needn't do this because i use SuSE distribution, i'm not sure if
this is a relevant hint:
---------snip---------------------
The driver itself can be completely compiled from the subdirectory
"src". In order to compile the
complete driver archive (also consisting of the CAPI tools and the CAPI
libraries each in their own
rpm archives) one further component is required, which has been existed
in source code for quite a
while but which is not part of the driver archive file (also due to its
size):
- The CAPI tools and libraries originate from the capi4k-utils package
(ftp://ftp.in-berlin.de/pub/capi4linux/capi4k-utils-XXXX-YY-ZZ.tar.gz)
For this package there are detailed installation instructions in the
"README" file in the same directory.

It does not need it to compile, that's right. But C4H can be used
stand-alone or together with hylafax. If you want to use it with hylafax
this package has to be installed before C4H.

This seems to be stand alone installation of C4H. I've never seen it
this way before.
What is the contents of your config.faxCAPI?
Where is the config-file stored?
>>>5) c2faxsend -f TIFF -d 05294888 /usr/local/bin/fritz.tiff received in
You could use -vf to get all information about what is happening.

Compiled from source i assume. Spooldir = /var/spool/hylafax ??

This is an old version. I use 03.09.10 build 02.09.27.

Just to be sure: the file should end ".tif".

May be the ISDN-service is denied on your phone?

Well, you didn't use hylafax yet! My fault! I should have asked you for
the C4H-log.

No. There are many people out there who successfully use C4H with
debian, rh and mandrake. Did you already google for it?
But if C4H doesn't work stand-alone even for an installation test you
shouldn't focus on hylafax. Make C4H working first!
For C4L/C4H specific questions you could also place your question on the

Hope this helps.
