[hylafax-users] DID + MultiModem 5634ZBA-DID
Hi,
I am trying to use a DID line with hylafax and I have a few questions.
The way that modem works is that when set to decode the DTMF of the
number called, it writes a string RING:XXXX (actually you can choose
among 3 strings and you can set separately the number of digits
returned) on the port.
I want to use the DistinctiveRing function of Hylafax to be able to do
fax routing.
>From the documentation and the FAQ, I gathered that to be able to trace
faxgetty communication with the modem, I need to set ServerTracingS2: 15
(1+2+4+8)in the config file. But doing so didn't increase the verbosity
of faxgetty. I then strace it and saw that faxgetty never opens the
config file but config.ttyxx file. Adding that command in that file
didn't help either. What do I need to do to trace faxgetty communication
with the modem, before and during call reception?
Then with an strace in place, I was able to see that faxgetty put the
modem in ATS0=0 among other things, then wait for a RING indicator. In
my case the RING comes back as RING:XXXX which seems not acceptable to
hylafax, even after setting RingExtended: RING:. I even try to add
DistinctiveRing: yes to see if that will help. How could I tell faxgetty
to accept RING: as a ring indication or am I missing something else?
Thanks in advance
Pascal
