Some extra advice that I forgot to include:

Increase verbosity by changing these lines in SPOOL/etc/config.ttyS2:

ServerTracing: 64429
SessionTracing: 150027

Then restart faxgetty and examine the /var/log/syslog file for fagetty
messages.

Also, consult the hylafax-config manual page for the ServerTracing
option because you might need this information on the future.
