One of the problems is that if you have a "bad" combination it will STAY bad
most of the time.

That is, you may find that someone who you really NEED to fax can't be
talked to with your system - that's a BIG problem.

The bizarre thing is that for the most part this problem has been solved for
and with REAL fax machines.  I can't remember the last time my HP OfficeJet
was unable to successfully complete a fax transmission - even to fax
machines that "fail" with various modems.

This is something that, at least for Class 1 use on HylaFax, SHOULD be
fixable.
