[hylafax-users] reporting success/failure

I'm not very familiar with fax technology.  I'm curious as to when most fax machines will return a success.

 

I.e. if you send a fax to a fax machine with no paper in it, or no toner or something bogus that would stop it from printing.. Do they usually report success and trash the job?  Do most only report success if they can successfully render the document?

 

I'm looking for background information, I certainly don't expect that anyhow has an exact answer.. mostly just looking for the gut feeling of the group.
