Since "com" does not seem a valid fontname, I think there must be something
"weird".
1) After the error message, does the fax gets sent or not?

2) If you look at /etc/hylafax/hyla.conf or /home/you/.hylarc, does it
contain the word "com" (I'm thinking somehow the automatic font detection
messed things up)
What is the complete hyla.conf .hylarc?

3)
$ textfmt -f Courier /etc/hosts > hosts.ps
is it ok?

4)
$ textfmt /etc/hosts > hosts.ps
does show the "com" error?
