That's what I get too, my server is working

Oh wait, I do get the status of the individual modems on mine, perhaps
that's what you mean. Do a faxaddmodem to add your modem to HylaFAX, see if
that resolves the matter.

Use the sendfax command to do faxing from the server, man sendfax for more
info.
