The protocol is ftp-like, active ftp require special firewall config.
You can try:
1) see if your ISP can do for HylaFAX what he does for ftp
2) see is you can use HylaFAX in passive mode (maybe you'll have to hack
the clients)
3) set up a vpn between clients and HylaFAX server, so that you can use
HylaFAX without worrying about firewall.
