Thank you.  My problem was not the compilation, but Unixware 7.1 itself.
I think I solved now the problem. I changed in scoadmin - system the settings of
MAXUP from "autotune" (which allows only 80 processes on our machine)  to 400 and
now we have no problems since this time.
It seems, that SCO has not done anything against this new old error.
