To my opinion the author should comment the changes. :-)
But I would recommend something like the following for the FAQ / HowTo:

Question: How can I use Hylafax with my Macintosh (for free)?
Answer: You can use the freeware MacFlex (which is not supported anymore but still
working fine). MacFlex requires the use of the "old" protocol/ports. You can use
the actual version of hylafax but you have to change the follwing lines in
/etc/init.d/hylafax:

Question: Faxes from my Mac are sent out with a delay of 24 hours. Why that?
Answer: Older versions of hylafax had a bug, fixed in version 4.1. You can use
older versions (4.0pl2 for example) but then you have to apply the leap-year
patch.
