HylaFax v4.0pl2 under linux with a Sporster v.90 FAX/MODEM. faxaddmodem can't probe the modem at other speed than 38400

When i run faxaddmodem, it detect that the speed
38400 is ok, but then he fail to accept any lower speed... and when i run
faxmodem /dev/ttyS2 the modem fail to initialise... the modem seem to work well
at anyspeed under minicom... what can cause this to
appen?
