Date/time on faxcover

Hello!

I like to translate and modify the date/time on the faxcover. Now it says:
    Mon May 01 11:57:30 2000
but I want something like:
   01 mei 2000 
"mei" is Dutch for May, I do not need a time.

Does somebody know where I can do that?
