In the config-file for your modem, typically, config.ttyS1, or config.modem,
in the /var/spool/fax/etc-directory, there is a parameter, RecvFileMode, that
has a default value of 0600. Try changing it to 0644. This might solve your
problem.Don't forget to update your config by using "faxmodem ttyS1", or
"faxmodem modem", whatever suits your setup.
