I would give your code a try, but the faxes comming in over that machine
mostly contain relevant data for our buisnes, and we can not accept the 
risk of losing some of them...sorry. And the kernel running on that 
machine is 2.2.9, because it is faster in the isdn- and Network-Code 
then the 2.0.x kernels.

And with my local faxserver, i only reveive one or two faxes a month. 
And with my sportster i dont have any problems with the actual code....
so there would be nothing to test.
