I'm amazed that efax _does_ work.  RPI modems, or in their more
correctly pejorative description, "WinModems", don't have much code on
the board.  The compression and error correction, at _least_, and in
some cases most of the firmware, is actually part of a windows driver.

In any event, both categories are best avoided.  Modems are cheap
nowadays.  Even good ones.
