The modem has responded ERROR to the end of the page transmission and
Hylafax has guessed that this was because the far end sent a retrain
negative response, although the confirming detail has been lost.

By the way, the problem is the negative, not the retrain.  The negative
means the receiving fax didn't consider the fax of useable quality.
The retrain simply means that the system things the modem needs to
re-measure the characteristics of the line.  However, as said above,
in this case Hylafax is guessing that ERROR means RTN.

Legitimate reasons for this are poor quality lines, but you should also
apply the corrupt tag line patch, and many advise applying the reduce
speed after RTN patch.
