faxgetty seems to block pppd

I have a problem with my faxgetty (SuSE 5.2; Zyxel U-1496plus; V 6.10
P).

When I try to connect to my provider with pppd it doesn't work for the
first time after reboot. FaxGetty seems to block it. After this failed
try ppd it will work as expected.
