flexfax: Are class-1 modems really that bad?

Hi,

it seems as if it gets harder and harder to find class-2 modems out there. 
That made me do a little more testing with a class-1 modem under load. I just 
tried to send and receive some faxes while doing a make -j zImage - and could 
not see any problems (Pentim-133, 64 MB).

Does that mean I will not have more trouble with class-1 than with class-2, or 
are there some more things beside performance that makes a class-2 modem much 
better than class-1 one?
