problems receiving faxes :-(

	Hi,

I'M running hylafax 4.0pl1 on a linux machine, using kernel 1.0.29.
Compiling and installation of hylafax ran just out of the box. I can
send and receive fax images and I'm able to initiate and answer data
calls on the same line. Everything works as expected - nearly evetything
:-(

While receiving a fax image I never can see any error messages,
everything seems to operate quite well. But while regarding the faxes
after reception I'm not able to display the fax image on my Win95 box
running 'WANG imaging V1.0'. This program states an "internal error".

Every attempt to convert the fax images to another picture format
yields messages like the following:

Fax3Decode1D: Warning, <file>: Premature EOL at scanline 395 (x 0).
Fax3Decode1D: <file>: Bad code word at scanline 396 (x 20).
tifftopnm: bad data read on line 396.

Trying to display the resulting image (e.g with xv) yields messages like
"the image appears to be truncated".

Hylafax and all fax/tiff programs are linked against libtiff
V3.4beta035.
My modem is a ZyXEl 1496E - IMHO one of the best fax modems available.
Can somebody please explain to me the circumstances leading to the
descripted error messages and perhaps help me avoiding these?

	thx
