Lee, do you need the full log so you can trace down the problem?


The full log would be nice because you're truncating the modem data at 32 characters. You can send it to me privately to not burden the list.


HOWEVER, it would appear that the actual modem data isn't going to matter... as it would seem that there is no data coming from the modem at all. So, what I would like you do to is, when faxgetty gets hung like this, attach strace to it and tell me what the strace output is. (You'll do that by getting the faxgetty pid number, and then running 'strace -p pid'... then send me whatever output you get. You may only get one line... a "read(...", but still, that's what I need to know.
