Re: [hylafax-users] faxmail, PDF, Postscript: pagelength question
I've done further testing and found that I may have not described the problem correctly. I just sent 4 pages from one faxmodem to another using faxmail. What I got out looked like what I put in. I did a second test, this time using the faxmail modem to a Xerox fax machine. In this second case, I put in the same 4 pages, but got 8 pages out.
Further, these 8 pages did not appear to be length run-ons--one page running onto a second page. Instead, each page generated a sort of cover page with a single line:
"Received Mar-13-06 05:49 From-GBF To-GreatBooks Page 01"
Each page was the same except for the page number. The second (and other even pages) had a similar (but not the same header) as the odd pages and included the fax content. These headers look similar to this:
"From GBF Mon Mar 13 16:35:30 2006 Page 1 of 4"
These headers seem to be generated at different points, probably, by different scripts. Can any of you get me to the next step? Is this obviously a misconfiguration of Hylafax, a faxmail issue, or does it have something to do with my fax machine?

I have configured Postfix to use faxmail with Rober McIntosh's filter.pl and pdf scripts. My current problem is getting what I think is A4 pagelength when I want us-let. In Chicago, nearly everyone uses us-let paper :)
Within these scripts, Postscript is configured to call mailfax and mailfax calls faxmail. Within faxmail, it appears that I could set the size of my page:
/usr/bin/faxmail -s letter -n -d "${USER}@${FAXNO}" ${SENDER}
However, changing the -s parameter appears to do nothing in my tests. It's as if this script is being ignored and yet, I see it being called from master.cf.
Perhaps there is not a better way to do this or one of you see what I'm missing. Thanks.
Mark
