Re: [hylafax-users] faxq spooler performance issues

Hello Mike.

What version of HylaFAX are you using? I ask because there were some relatively recent improvements.

Hello All,

I experience a problem with high cpu load by faxq process when there is a
lot of jobs in send queue.

Here is some info about configuration:
- Fax batching is disabled.
- I use 48 t38modems
- Machine is P4 2.8, 1G RAM, IDE.
The load is not linear, and not depends from amount of concurrent
faxes that are actually sending in a moment of time.
For example:
- with 500 faxes in send queue (all 48 modems are loaded with faxes
and sending), faxq process CPU load ~ 20%, UNIX load averages (uptime
command) < 1
- with 5000 faxes in send queue (all 48 modems are loaded too)
faxq process average CPU load is close to 100%, UNIX load averages
(uptime command) vary from 3 to 6.

Do anyone expect same behavior? Any fixes?
