Re: [hylafax-users] problem to fax attachment
First of all, thank you very much for your kind response.
I tried to do what you suggested.
Doing that, the only change is that the write
DISCARDED image/tiff GOES HERE
disappears
But my question is more general
Why should I have a tiff converter ?????? If I read the documentation that
tells me TIFF files, PS Files and now also PDF Files
are DIRECTLY managed by the server !!! MoreOver: If I read the
/usr/local/lib/fax/typerules, I can read this:
# These are the "null rules"--i.e. for matching formats handled
# directly by the server.
#
#offset datatype match result rule
0 string %! ps
0 short 0x4d4d tiff
0 short 0x4949 tiff
....
and later:
# HylaFAX now has server-side PDF conversion, so no need for pdf2ps.
# If you have trouble or if you prefer to use pdf2ps, comment this
# next line and uncomment the second.
0 string %PDF ps
#0 string %PDF ps pdf2ps %i %o
#
Where can I find the log about the job done by faxmail , when it is invoked
by the sendmail server ?????????
Thanks in advance,
Andrea

Andre,
I think I was stumped when i first noticed that message from Hylafax as
well.

You may need to install the other programs used by those scripts as well
if the are not already installed on your system.
I'm not too sure why something like these scripts are not included in
the source install's. But I think once I had those scripts in place I
think I was able to send Tiff files.
I was asking myself a very similar question earlier, if there were any
other scripts and utilities that are used by the Hylafax users to phrase
email attachments from a Linux based server?
