I guess I wasn't super clear. I have a need to send and receive lots of faxes.
My need is not to send documents, but to test FAX functionality of VOIP equipment.
(Part of the testing is to make sure T.38 functionality is working properly.)


What I really wanted to confirm was that the USR modems are, erm, *unreliable*.
(It seems I'm not the only one who's been duped! I sent a nastygram to USR about it...)

Yes, they are.


What modems do you recommend?

(My second modem purchase was a pair of MultiTech MT5634ZPX-PCI-U modems.
They seem to work much better!)

Multitechs are often recommended, but search the list archives for more info.
