just griping.
If *I* had started up hylafax.sourceforge.net, forked the code on
there, and branded it to look like an official site of the HylaFAX
project (as opposed to a 3rd-party fork), you would agree that I would
be doing a Wrong Thing, correct?
Lee may well be a important and useful member of the HylaFAX project
-- but he is not the project embodied, and should not claim to be so;
there are a great many others whose resources are embodied.
I too am somewhat baffled by the move. It doesn't sound like it's
Lee's intent to fork the code (I may be wrong). If it is his intention
to fork the code, then the project should take on it's own name.
Hylafax should remain with the main branch. I know Lee is one of the
more prominent posters to this list. I don't know how involved he is in
the coding as I'm not on the developers list.
There are some reasons why I might want to code forked (as was brought
up on this list last week, the mysql logging). But as I mentioned, I
was able to rework a few of the scripts with perl and get everything
working for my client's purposes.
Lee, feel free to explain your intentions and future goals for this
SourceForge site.

Darrick
