Thanks for the speedy reply!

When I looked into setting this fax server up I got that old modem from
eBay for a whopping $15.  I was under the impression USR was a decent
brand to purchase and, in fact, used to use a USRCourier before the
"broadband revolution" hit.

I've looked at the modem info pages on the hylafax.org site and it seems
the recommended modems are pretty pricey.  Are there any consumer-level
modems you would recommend?  I'd like to keep this below the $100 level
if possible.

Is this modem reset problem likely to occur frequently with this USR
Sportster?

It's one of the "bonus" features that come with USR modems.  ;-)
