not a good idea to use cvs for a production environment....
Generally speaking, with most packages, this is a valid statement. Most
packages always seem to have "the next big thing" in an in-progress
state in their CVS and the developers only clean things up for release
cycles.
That's not true with HylaFAX. We try to keep CVS production-worthy. In
fact, most of the systems I administer use a releatively recent copy of
HylaFAX CVS HEAD.
If HylaFAX release cycles were frequent (like maybe once every couple of
months or after each "worthy" commit occurs) then we wouldn't need to
tell people to use CVS HEAD snapshots. But things are not that way.
The releases are infrequent enough and the release cycles take long
enough that this is not possible. People affected by recent
developments or recent changes in libtiff or recent changes in some
distribution and people wanting really new features are probably going
to need to turn to CVS snapshots unless they *happen* to be so-inclined
very near a release date.
