[hylafax-users] Best way to set proper permissions?

Hi!

I upgraded my server from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 without a problem.

Thanks to guys at ifax for the RH-9 package! Good job.

Then, I decided to use a hylafax client to access the faxes we received.

Previously email was the only delivery we were using.

However, I quickly discovered that since the default permissions is 600 on

the received tiff images, the FTP transaction on port 4557 was not successful.

So clients were failing to display the faxes, although they all managed

to get the list. I manually verified this via the ftp command on Linux.

It looks like I have three options to overcome this properly:

1- Choosing a proper UID for the faxadduser - which uid?

2- Setting a UMASK variable for the uucp user of the faxrcvd - where to set?

3- Modifying the received tiff file at FaxDispatch via /bin/chmod command - is it safe?

Which do you think I should go for?

Is there another way to issue 644 permissions to received faxes automatically?

Thanks a lot!

Regards

Cem
