Other devices (like t38modem) are using a cid@did format for the "dial
string"... Using something like that, it would be easy to use a faxsend
wrapper which would specify a different "ModemDialCmd" based on who the
job owner is, and make your device "dial" something like:
ATDTcid@1NXXNXXXXXX
This means that your dialrules make sure to "fix" wacky phone nubmers
submitted, and that your cid is "controlled" based on the job owner, and
you PBX/whatever could use the "dialed extension" to determine the
callid for the outbound leg.
If you wanted to get wacky, you could pick a field of the job, like
voice number, or something, and make your faxsend wrapper set that as
the callid.
