Re: [hylafax-users] Status of batching?

Thanks for the info Offman,

I think that's an excellent change, one that could be parameterized and
installed as part of the Hyla configuration. For those of us with large
volumes of small faxes, this would be a great help. I've asked you to send
the code change in private, if the code can be made more generic, I'll
return it to the group as it would have significant value for us
"batchers".

to utilize it, you faxes MUST all be set to EXACTLY the same send
time. & same dest, obviously!!.
The way i do it , is to partition each hour into 15 minutes, and
faxes to the same dest get set to that 14/29/44/59 minutes.
doing it that way you do not need to check for overfow past the hour/
day.
then i take the current time and add 2 minutes to it, if it is still
in the Quarter 14/29/44/59 then i process the pdf2ps, if it is
outside the Quarter, i shove the pdf2ps into the next quater.
I use 15 minutes, so that no batched fax has to wait for more than
15 minutes before being sent.
